Postdoctoral Positions Available NSF IGERT Program in Computational Science and Engineering has begun at UCSB
UCSB has been awarded an NSF IGERT (Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship) grant of about $2.9 million over 5 years. There are about 20 IGERT grant awards made each year nationwide. This UCSB IGERT Program is in the area of Computational Science and Engineering (CSE), with an emphasis on multiscale problems from fluids and materials. The UCSB IGERT program in CSE is prestigious and competitive. Each year we expect to award IGERT fellowships to only about 6 incoming graduate students throughout the whole of UCSB.
Glenn Frederickson Awarded APS Prize
Professor Glenn Fredrickson in Chemical Engineering and Materials has been awarded the 2007 Polymer Physics prize of the American Physical Society (APS) "for insightful and predictive theories regarding the thermodynamics and dynamics of macromolecular systems." The award was presented at the meeting in Denver, CO this past March.
