A postdoctoral position is available in the Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) Research Group at the University of California Santa Barbara, in the area of computational systems biology. The CSE Research Group is seeking a highly talented and committed individual with an ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary research environment. The successful candidate will be involved in the development of algorithms and software for multiscale discrete stochastic/deterministic simulation of cell regulatory processes.

Positions are available immediately for a period of one year, renewable to two years. Applicants must have a PhD in applied mathematics, computer science or engineering, with relevant background in computational methods. A background in stochastic processes or in cellular biology is desirable but not essential. The candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Interested applicants should contact Linda Petzold (petzold@engineering.ucsb.edu) for further inquiry, or can directly send curriculum vitae and a statement of research interests, and have two letters of reference sent to: Professor Linda Petzold, Dept. of Computer Science, University of California, Santa Barbara CA, 93106.
