As a Mechanical Engineering student at UCSB, Esteban worked with Professor Eckart Meiburg. Esteban's research focus was on the flow description and forces on submerged structures from the impact of gravity currents. He advanced to candidacy in January 2007 and is a recipient of the Cota-Robles fellowship.
March 16, 2009 Esteban defended his thesis and in May of 2009 he will be going to Sandia-Livermore Laboratory where he will be a Post-doc in the Combustion Research Group. Esteban will be working on turbulence modeling.
