On June 3, 2008 Matthew defended his thesis entitled,
"Multiscale Modeling and Simulation of Copper Electrodeposition." Matthew will continue his research with
Professor Linda Petzold as an Assistant Researcher in her lab.
Upon joining Professor Petzold’s group Matt immediately set to work on modeling and simulation
of the electrodeposition of copper interconnects in computer processors. Such systems, with irregular
and moving boundaries, play an important role in the fabrication of interconnects for the next generation of computer processors.
